Meet the teacher

Ms. Noa

Noa Barankin, dancer, musician, director, and choreographer, boasts extensive experience in the performing arts, both abroad and in the US. As the Artistic Director & Choreographer of her acclaimed bi-coastal company, DrumatiX, she has showcased her work in prominent venues across the country, including Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, Providence Performing Arts Center, Clayton Opera House, Pasadena Playhouse, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and for clients such as Boston Bar Association and globally for Cisco. With DrumatiX, Noa has left an indelible mark on the performing arts scene, earning accolades such as the 2023 Boston Parents Paper "Best Live Performances and Family Entertainment" award and nominations for Best Ensemble and Best Dance Production in Broadway World LA.With DrumatiX, Noa creates an innovative blend of tap dance, body percussion, and drumming, combining these worlds with found items, invented instruments, technology, clowning, and audience interaction.Before founding DrumatiX, Noa's talents took her on tours with "Tararam", "Offbeat Tap", and the "Boston Tap Company." Her creative endeavors extend to choreography for television and independent films, and directing youth musical theater. Notably, her role in the family musical "Power of Wishes" garnered her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Israeli Children's Theater Awards in 2013.Noa has shared her expertise with students at esteemed institutions like MIT, Northeastern, and Brandeis, and renowned events nationwide, including Ignite Dance Competition, Beantown Tapfest, and Southern Vermont Dance Festival. Her commitment to nurturing talent has earned her nominations for the Industry Dance Awards and top honors at national competitions alongside her students, including National Title and national awards for Entertainment, Concept, and Choreography. Her company DrumatiX partners with MA Arts For Learning and Arts Education Connection San Diego, providing arts in education assemblies and residencies in K-12 educational settings. Before relocating to San Diego, Noa was an Adjunct Tap Dance professor at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
